Dredgre Plan

Page Lake 5 Year Dredge Plan (Draft)

Year 1 – Summer of 2022

Prepare area between Lake Shore Drive and water’s edge for placement of GeoTube bags.  Area must have a 0% pitch.  Size will be determined later based on final bag size and shape.  This area is not included in Bluestone’s proposal number and can be performed by others.

Dredging area 1 as defined by the Hanover Engineering bathymetric survey dated 12/12/2018.  Target areas closest to the shore starting, and containing the most sediment in Sections A-A  to E-E from shoreline to marker 2+00.   It is estimated that approximately 5,000 CY+- of unconsolidated material would be removed.  This is approximately ½ of the proposed dredge area 1.

Subsequent to demobilization of the dredge unit, bag will be allowed to dewater for a minimum of 60 days.   At that point, the bag can be sacrificed, and the material removed to another location.

Year 2 Spring of 2023

Place a new GeoTube bag on the location from year 1.

Dredge area 2 as defined by the Hanover Engineering bathymetric survey dated 12/12/2018.   Target area(s) in sections F-F through H-H.  It is recommended that this work take place prior to late May as aerial photos show significant floating vegetation during the summer months.  The vegetation would slow progress significantly.  It is estimated that approximately 6,000 CY+- of unconsolidated material would be removed.

Subsequent to demobilization of the dredge unit, bag will be allowed to dewater for a minimum of 60 days.   At that point, the bag can be sacrificed, and the material removed to another location.

Year 3

Place a new GeoTube bag on the location from year 2.

Determine which of areas 1 and 2 contained large quantities of unconsolidated material not addressed in the first two years.  Develop a plan to address those areas as a one-year mobilization.  Once this is completed the site can be restored to the original state or left as is and utilized for other purposes.  Timing for this can be any period May thru September.

Year(s) 4 and 5

Prepare area to be determine later near area 5 and water’s edge for placement of GeoTube bags.   Size will be determined at a later date based on final bag size and shape.  This area is not included in Bluestone’s proposal number and can be performed by others.

Dredge area 5 as defined by the Hanover Engineering bathymetric survey dated 12/12/2018.   Target area(s) in sections North of section R-R (tributary).    It is recommended that this work take place prior to late May as aerial photos show significant floating vegetation during the summer months.  The vegetation would slow progress significantly.  It is unknown the quantity of unconsolidated material would be removed as there is not bathymetric for this area.

Subsequent to demobilization of the dredge unit, bag will be allowed to dewater for a minimum of 60 days.   At that point, the bag can be sacrificed, and the material removed to another location.

In year 5, the focus would be the areas to the south of section R-R as noted on the plans.  Based on current bathymetric sections P-P, Q-Q and R-R would be included. Subsequent to demobilization of the dredge unit, bag will be allowed to dewater for a minimum of 60 days.   At that point, the bag can be sacrificed, and the
